Fortnite X Monsterverse Collaboration Transforms Players Into Godzilla; Wrecking Havoc Like A Kaiju

Epic Games and Monarch joined forces as Godzilla – King of the Monsters stomped through the Fortnite island – bringing Kong and Mechagodzilla for some Kaiju shenanigans. These titans began their clash on January 16th, 2025 with Item Shop offers and limited-time Battle Royale encounters with players able to become Godzilla and unleash powerful atomic breath, roar, and stomp attacks. Godzilla became available to unlock on January 17th, 2025 for Battle Pass owners – cosmetics inspired by his appearance in the Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire (2024) film. Players have until February 21st, 2025 to level up and earn as much XP needed to secure any rewards before the end of the season.

The Monsterverse franchise launched with Godzilla (2014) followed by a series of sequels including Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), and the Apple TV+ exclusive series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023) with Legendary confirming that another project would release in 2027 with Kaitlyn Dever (The Last of Us) in negotiations to join the cast.
