Xbox Series X Mini Fridge Is Actually Happening And Aaron Greenberg Has The Latest Pre-Order Details

After knocking out fifteen other brands during the #BestOfTweets Brand Bracket competition on Twitter, Xbox was officially crowned the winner on April 2nd, 2021 after narrowly beating out Skittles with a 1% margin. As a result, Aaron Greenberg, General Manager, Xbox Games Marketing took to his own personal account at 10AM EST to announce that they would honour and make good on their promise (if they won) to develop and manufacture an actual Xbox Series X Mini Fridge with the first ones going directly to the folks at Skittles for their sportsmanship throughout the campaign.

What started as a joke on March 16th, 2020 quickly became an internet meme sensation with Xbox comparing the shape and size of the (yet to be released) Xbox Series X console to that of a standard sized refrigerator – the rest is history. The punchline was far from over as Xbox went ahead and produced a life-sized Xbox Series X Refrigerator which was delivered to artist Snoop Dogg for his birthday; seriously, it happened and the gaming community absolutely loved it. The appliance weighed in at around 400 pounds, stood 6 feet tall, and was a 1:1 scale replica of the actual console.

The Xbox Series X Mini Fridge was subsequently unveiled during the Bethesda & Xbox E3 Showcase on June 13th, 2021 and is being manufactured in partnership with Ukonic! to give NEW meaning to the term “Xbox and Chill” amongst the gaming community. The fully functioning appliance features LED lights and resembles its counterpart with a sleek matte-black tower that can hold up to 10 individual soda cans. There are two shelves in the door for players to stock with their favourite snacks and beverages to keep the gameplay going long into the night. Greenberg adds that there is a USB port on the front to charge devices and comes equipped with a DC power adapter for travel usage.

Players were able to pre-order the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge on October 19th, 2021 through Target whom is the exclusive retailer for the United States market at a cost of $99.99 USD with information regarding Canadian availability coming in the near future. Canadian players will be able to purchase the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge directly from the official Xbox Gear Shop as Target no longer has any retail locations in the country; tentatively scheduled for a December release. Additional markets will include Europe, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Netherlands, and Poland with Xbox working diligently to bring the Xbox Series X Mini Fridge to as many fans as possible; limited-time product.

Greenberg explains that they will continue shipping them into early 2022 pending regulatory approvals and restrictions by each respected market but will not be producing them for any extended period of time meaning that those looking to pick up an Xbox Series X Mini Fridge for themselves should do their best to collect one from their nearest Target location (USA) or enable online notifications.
