YouTube Personality MrBeast Brings Signature Flair To Fortnite With Extreme Survival Challenge Island
The Fortnite Icon Series has seen quite a few popular YouTube personalities being added to the game with their own unique bundles – SypherPK being the most recent inductee – and Epic Games recently collaborated with arguably the most successful personalities to date. Known professionally as MrBeast to the online community, Jimmy Donaldson is an American YouTube star with a reputation for creating some of the most expensive videos which typically involve himself giving away thousands of dollars to participants through elaborate “Survivor inspired” challenges and contests. His channels have garnered over 200+ million subscribers to date with no immediate sign of stopping anytime soon.
Players could purchase the MrBeast Bundle for 1,800 V-Bucks which included the MrBeast Outfit with Hat Off Style, MrBeast Smasher Pickaxe, Beast Blastin’ Emote, and Beast Backdrop Wrap; those that purchased the bundle received a discount of 600 V-Bucks. Donaldson also got a cel shaded version of himself through the MrBeast6000 Bundle – available for 2,200 V-Bucks – which packaged together the MrBeast6000 Outfit with Mask Off Style, Prize Package Back Bling, Beast Claw Pickaxe, and Wrapped and Revved Glider. Similar to the previous bundle, a discount of 900 V-Bucks was offered.
Players looking to customize their MrBeast experience could procure individual items including the Outfits for 1,200 V-Bucks and 1,500 V-Bucks, Pickaxes for 500 V-Bucks and 800 V-Bucks alongside all of the remaining items – Emote, Wrap, and Glider – for up to 1,200 V-Bucks. Epic Games brought MrBeast to Fortnite on December 14th, 2022 at 7PM during the annual Winterfest celebration – it is currently unknown as to whether or not players will see Donaldson return to the Item Shop in the future.
And in true MrBeast fashion, players had the opportunity to compete for $1 million dollars (USD) with the MrBeast’s Extreme Survival Challenge on December 17th, 2022 until 3PM EST. Players could load up the creative island – made by Atlas Creative – and play through the challenge as many times as they desired with the ultimate goal of earning the most “Score” out of all eligible participants. A secondary prize – Beast Brella Umbrella – was awarded to those that placed within the Top 100,000 players prior to the conclusion of the event. Additionally, two Quests were available during this time which unlocked the MrBeast Gaming Spray and MrBeast Survival Games Loading Screen upon completion.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices – iOS compatibility is available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
